Autism / Asperger's Syndrome

Gluten Free Casein Free diet

We have personal knowledge of a Gluten Free diet for a young boy making an astounding difference - and this difference was obvious in less than one week.

- the tempers and the behaviour that went with them disappeared, the accidents that left his sibling in frequent distress vanished, the extreme words he sometimes used suddenly were no longer said, he said 'Sorry' genuinely and without being told to  - In all, life became calm, the house became quiet,  and life was as it used to be, as it should be.

Stories such as this are not uncommon at all.

Few places or people seem to actively promote the idea of food intolerance - but,  Isn't it better to check if there is food intolerence playing a part in your child's behaviour, etc first, BEFORE the pills start getting pushed into yourself or your child?

Gluten is found in Wheat particularly, also Barley and Rye. Oats are often contaminated with it.

If you do your own cooking, it is easy - just buy Gluten Free flour and Gluten Free Bread Flour and you can hardly notice the difference. Homemade Gluten Free food is nearly as delicious as 'normal' homemade food.

Otherwise, you may need to shop around for "Gluten Free" food, and they may or may not be that tasty.

They may also be contaminated with gluten somewhere along its production. Bought food cannot be guaranteed to be completely gluten free, since they cannot test for zero gluten.

Please do give food intolerance a try - Gluten Free, Casein Free, maybe other intolerances too. You/your child will get used to any slightly different tasting food - and the benefits you and your child may get, may well greatly outweigh any initial difficulties of altering the food - AND greatly outweigh the dangers of taking medication, particularly long-term.
